The Careers and Alumni Departments would like to invite you to the first of our 2021 series of 'In Conversation' talks, with two special guest speakers. We are excited to announce that we will be joined by alumnae Tamsin Ogilvie and Alexis Albion who will be speaking about their career journeys, followed by a Q&A session at the end. This online Zoom event will take place on Wednesday 3rd February at 6pm. If you wish to attend, please register your interest - the Zoom link will then be emailed to you.
Tamsin Ogilvie has spent her professional life in the design world with a focus on visual narrative. Early projects in theatre design lead to work and travel in the film industry. In Australia, Tamsin worked with Baz Luhrmann's team on the Fox Backlot experience, Warner Bros: Red Planet, Olympic Games 2000 Ceremonies. Back in the UK, she designed interactive graphic experiences for Hasbro, BBC, National Trust, Superdrug, Glastonbury and other festivals. Motherhood required a change of pace, so after completing an MA at Reading University, Tamsin is now working on preliminary material for a PhD on the design of graphic novels, alongside running her design studio, and occasional hand-made book maker.
Alexis Albion has had a varied career making use of her skills as a professional historian. A US citizen, she studied History at Princeton University, and completed her MA and PhD in International History at Harvard University. Living in Washington, DC, Alexis worked on the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (9/11 Commission), at the US Department of State, and at the World Bank Group, before becoming the Lead Curator at the International Spy Museum. In this role, she redeveloped the Museum's permanent exhibits as it moved to a new location. Currently, she is responsible for developing new content for the Museum's temporary and permanent exhibitions, and other special projects.
