Class of 2010 alumna Christabel Reed joined three other business professionals to speak at yesterday’s Business, Entrepreneurship and Management Jujiro Career Event.

Christabel herself runs an ethical business, Advaya Initiative, which seeks to inspire young people to find solutions to the inter-connected crises of environmental destruction and poor mental health. After reading History at University of Manchester, Christabel trained as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist before embarking on a Masters in the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation at SOAS. She was inspired to set up Advaya Initiative in 2016 as she sought positive change by educating and empowering young people to become activists. With her whole-hearted belief in ‘doing what you love’, Christabel harnesses her energy, enthusiasm and profound faith in her chosen cause to drive her to succeed.

Alongside Christabel were FHS parents Alex Cheatle, Founder and CEO of Ten Lifestyle group PLC, Henri Perusset, Head of Business Development, Global Financial Markets at HSBC and Prama Bhardwaj, Founder and CEO of Mantis World. The four panelists discussed succeeding in business to the audience of Regent’s Park pupils and their parents. The overriding sentiment was that confidence, resilience, courage, hard work and determination are the key attributes to finding success and fulfillment. Fear of failure was discussed as a motivating factor in moving forwards and reaching full potential.

Our thanks go to all panelists for participating and for their words of wisdom and encouragement. The next Jujiro event will focus on the cultural and creative industries on 1st May.
