Thursday October 17th saw 30 past pupils and associated staff from the Class of 1979 celebrate 40 years since leaving FHS at a reunion party, which was held in the school's Gloucester Room.

With speeches given by Headmaster Mr Charles Fillingham (accompanied by his dog, Clementine), Chair of Quondam Mrs Susanne Nedas and former Pastoral Deputy Head Mrs Felicity Forde, all of whom joined in the celebrations, guests enjoyed looking back through the old class photographs, registration books and magazines that were on display from the school's archive. Mrs Forde recalled memories of the new school wing, opened in 1971, which housed the science area, lecture theatre and art room; the phasing out of the prep school in 1976 to create two parallel forms in the Senior School. And the abolishment of berets as part of the school uniform in 1978 after the centenary service at St Paul's.

Tours of the school also proved popular, especially so with some alumni, who hadn't returned to the school since their departure! With the Gloucester Room packed and buzzing with the sound of old friends and peers swapping stories and reminiscing, it was an absolute delight to witness and a pleasure to host. It was lovely to meet you all.

Many thanks to all alumni who returned to FHS for the evening, and especially to alumna Maria Hadjipateras and Felicity Forde for their stirling effort and support in organising the event.
