FHS Virtual Olympics 2020

The competition week took place from Monday 22nd June - Friday 26th June and offered pupils, parents and staff an opportunity to get active and earn those all important House points in the process!

The winner will be announced next week and the winning House will claim the Sports Day cup.

Here's what some of our girls had to say about it!

"Sports Week this year has been like no other year before! The PE Department created a set of unique challenges (how many star jumps or sit-ups or squats you can do in one minute) and fun Olympic-style stay at home activities. All the activities required little to no help from adults which made them very easy and fun to do. It was also fun having your friends explain the challenges via video each day."

"The FHS Olympics was such a fun thing to do after 8 weeks in a row of completing Weekly Fitness Journals, it was great to do something different. The Olympics consisted of a range of events; some you could complete with friends and others on your own. I really enjoyed doing all the daily challenges, especially hula hooping and juggling! When I first joined FHS one of the things I was most excited about was doing Sports Day. Although I am sad that it wasn't able to happen this year, I found that doing the FHS Olympics was just as fun!"

Emily Krohn

"The FHS Virtual Olympics was a fantastic way of getting active. I think the daily challenges pushed me more. The relay was a good way of replacing the real relay and there was more of a range of activities in the relay which I liked! Overall, I think the FHS Virtual Olympics was a great way of having Sports Day under the circumstances we are in!"
