Hale Lecture – alumna, Dr Hannah Dawson

On Wednesday 8th March, our Hale Lecture was delivered to Year 9-13 pupils in Linhope House by FHS alumna Dr Hannah Dawson, King’s College Lecturer in the History of Ideas. She marked International Women’s Day with a insightful whistle-stop tour of the history of feminism, covering writers from Virginia Woolf, to Simone de Beauvoir, Jane Anger to Sheryl Sandberg. In addressing the structural phenomenon of sexism and the importance of intersectional feminism, she stressed the need to bring people at the edges of power into the centre in order to bring justice for all.
