Yesterday afternoon, 25 former pupils and staff, accompanied by current pupils, met up for a lively tea party in the School Library. Headmistress, Katharine Woodcock, and Chair of Quondam Susanne Nedas welcomed the guests, who enjoyed tea, sandwiches, and cakes, before taking a trip down memory lane looking at yearbooks and photographs that were on display.
Later, around 40 ‘Polished Corners’ attended the Quondam School Birthday Drinks Reception in lieu of the usual November lunch. Champagne and canapes were served as Susanne Nedas and Katharine Woodcock gave speeches, creating a warm and convivial atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was the screening of a short film (see below )to commemorate the School’s 145th Birthday, which featured photos from the School archives. Former pupils and former staff were grateful for the opportunity to reunite – some after many years – and the event was also a wonderful opportunity to welcome back our recent leavers to the school. The success of the day was due to the hard work of the staff, pupils, Quondam Committee members, and our community of Polished Corners – thank you to all who attended.
