It’s that time of year again… Sports Day! This year’s Sports Day was a triumphant success, held for the first time at the Finsbury Park Athletics Track, the ideal setting for a day of friendly competition, light-hearted House rivalry and sporting prowess. From the field to track, the atmosphere throughout the day was electric, with Miss Babooram and Mr Higgins rallying the crowds and expertly emcee-ing the day’s activities. Particular highlights included a spontaneous lunchtime whole-school macarena, LVI triumphing in their Staff vs. Student tug-of-war, highly energetic relay races to finish off the day, and some fantastic results in all events. All four FHS lodestar nouns were in full force, but none more so than spirit, as nothing quite brings out FHS spirit like a sunny Sports Day!
The day culminated in a rousing presentation by Ms Westwood and Mr Fillingham, with Mars, Jupiter and Saturn eagerly waiting to hear who topped the leader-board. In the end it was Saturn who reigned victorious with a well-earned win of over 380 points.
Huge well done to the girls for throwing themselves into every event with spirit, resilience and enthusiasm, and we already can’t wait for next year!
