Featuring talented musicians from the Thirds all the way to the Upper Sixth, the evening saw our young musicians perform a varied and complex programme of pieces for the audience, comprised of their parents, friends, teachers, siblings and grandparents.
The night’s entertainment commenced with the Senior Orchestra performing two classics of the orchestral repertoire: Strauss’ Radetzky and the atmospheric theme tune from James Bond. Thus followed a mixture of performances spanning various music styles, from tenderly performed choir pieces to the jazzier finale acts. Special mention must go to our three soloists from the evening: pianist Daisy Qiao (IIIs) performing Debussy’s Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum, violinist Ella Dehnugara (UV) performing Tchaikovsky’s Canzonetta and vocalist Daisy Fuss (UIV) for stepping in last minute to lead the student band vocals in Adele’s When We Were Young.
Huge well done to all of the girls who took to the stage, and thank you to all who came to enjoy this wonderful night of music.
