Congratulations to the two winners of this year's Quondam Writing Competition: Amara Anderson, IIIJ, who came first in the Junior Category with her story, ‘Two for Joy’, and Hana Preston, LVIBS, who took first place in the Senior Category with her story ‘The Bloodied Flesh of Adam.’ The winners were announced during this afternoon’s assembly by Chair of Quondam, Susanne Nedas, who congratulated the winners and spoke of how much the Quondam Committee enjoyed reading them. The competition’s theme was ‘Be Bold!’, with pupils asked to submit either a story, essay, or poem centred around the theme. This year we received a record number of entries, giving the judges a difficult decision when selecting the overall winners.
Both winners will be awarded a £50 book token at the forthcoming Prize Giving Ceremony. Congratulations also to our runners up: Camille Heather, IIIM, and Freya Sabharwal, LIVM, in the Junior Category, and Orielle Garson-Sweidan, LVH, and Charlotte Housley, UVW, in the Senior Category.
