Led by our wonderful Director of Music, Ms Murphy, the service consisted of joyful musical performances by our Junior and Senior Choirs and Chamber Choirs, Senior Strings and Sixth Form vocal group. Festive musical pieces included The Holly & The Ivy, O Nata Lux, December Rose and many more, all of which were performed to an excellent standard. We were also treated to a an astonishingly brilliant vocal solo of Handel’s Eternal Source of the Light Divine by Louna in the UV. The congregation also joined in with some festive FHS favourites including Once in Royal David’s City, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and O Come, All Ye Faithful.
We also enjoyed poignant readings by representatives of all year groups, the vicar, our Headmistress, Mrs Woodcock, Assistant Head (Teaching and Learning), Ms Lewis, and Head Girl, Issy.
Thank you so much to all who attended and made the afternoon such a magical celebration of Christmas, worthy of its stunning venue, and to all who donated money to Crisis in our retiring collection. We wish our entire FHS community a happy and restful Christmas break.
