School News

Linhope House is the first major new building at Francis Holland School since we moved into Ivor Place in 1915. That means that we have been waiting 107 years for this moment to come and now that it is very nearly here, we should be excited about it!

I am pleased to say that building work has been underway for a couple of weeks now – mainly stripping out and getting ready. In addition, some major pieces of heavy plant and machinery have been ordered already and they will be with us soon. The project is currently on time and on schedule to finish by Friday 8th July 2022 and that means that girls will take up occupancy here from the start of the Autumn Term. Our contractors were appointed in a competitive tender process earlier this term; they are called Collins Construction and they have a good track record of similar refurbishment work delivered to a very high standard elsewhere in London.

Over the coming weeks, I will introduce to you some of the team who will be delivering our brilliant new building and I will also bring you some behind-the-scenes photos and some nuggets of insider knowledge to keep you in the loop with this fantastic project. Every girl in the school will benefit from the additional space and the new facilities which we can bring in as a result of Linhope House. For example, the main school building will see changes as the existing Sixth Form Centre is reworked to new purposes. Stay tuned; there are exciting times ahead.

Please feel free to be in touch with me about our wonderful Linhope House project or any other matter.

With best regards,
Mr Charles Fillingham
